Boating and water play are a way of life in Granite Shoals, and finding a boat rental or ski-do will be an easy task with a number of rental facilities in the area. Aquatic rentals include kayaks, canoes, motor boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, party boats and house boats. You can also rent water skiing, wake boarding and inner tube equipment at some of these boat rental locations. No matter what type of water sport you want to do on your vacation, you’re guaranteed to find it.

Fishing is a popular pastime at all the Highland Lakes and Granite Shoals gives anglers the chance to catch the big one on their fishing trip to Lake LBJ! The common species available for fishing at Lake LBJ are Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Crappie and Catfish. Granite Shoals loves parks. For a small town of 2000 people, it has a large number of parks, 19 city parks, and 17 of them are lakeside! The parks are the perfect setting for swimming, fishing, picnicking or launching your boat.

Enchanted Rock State Park

1643 acres on Big Sandy Creek, approximately 45 minutes SE of Burnet County, between Gillespie/Llano Counties. Primitive backpacking, hiking, picnicking, geological study, birding, & star gazing. Park resources are protected by law. Rock climbers must check in at headquarters before climbing the 425' granite dome revered by Native Americans as sacred ground.

West Cave Preserve, Blanco County

A natural treasure in the Texas Hill Country, this 30-acre gem offers an array of natural science & interdisciplinary educational programs for children and adults. Bring the whole family to enjoy the environmental learning center and beautiful walking trails tucked in a canyon grotto.
Great family fun is available year-round at Sweet Berry Farm. Spring and summer months mean Strawberries and blackberries, and the crisp autumn weather brings pumpkins, gourds and fun fall activities like hayrides, scarecrow stuffing and pumpkin painting. The farm even has a 4 acre hayfield maze that visitors can play in.
