Hunting and Fishing in the Highland Lakes

The Highland Lakes of Texas are paradise for the outdoorsman. Native game fish abound in our lakes and streams including bass, crappie, bream and catfish. Fall and winter hunting seasons offer plentiful white-tailed deer, feral hogs, wild turkey and excellent wing shooting of migratory and native game birds. Ask your lodging host for recommendation on guide services and supply outlets. Guided hunting & fishing services also make great gifts!

If you’d prefer a lakeside lodging venue, see our travel guides for Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, and Lake Travis. Great group rates are often available during hunting season. Be sure and ask about hunter’s discounts and tell your lodging host Burnet County sent you!
